Mahmoud Kuhail Award for political cartoon


Omar won the Mahmoud Kuhail Award for the political cartoon category, where nearly 2,000 cartoonists and artists from the Arab world participated in the competition. The awards ceremony was held at the American University of Beirut.

Omar Collaboration with Tamatem


Cartoonist Omar Abdallat cooperated with Tamatem from June 2022 to Feb. 2023, where he provided his services as a consultant, creative content producer, and trainer. Omar contributed to establishing a team to produce Saudi cartoon content entitled (Rabea’ Baloot). He also trained the employees of Tamatem on creative thinking and a group of workshops with the same title for several universities as a community colleges in Jordan.


Workshop and training with UNESCO


Omar in cooperation with UNESCO has provided his consultations and trained 10 creative content makers in various fields in a series of workshops on (hate speech), as well as training on the basics of drawing cartoon caricatures.

Workshops with Minalab and Takween


Qalam Hurr in cooperation with Minalab conducted a group of workshops on storytelling with 20 students and graduates of various fields such as engineering and design. The workshops were sponsored by Takween.


Social Entrepreneurship Summit Award by UNDP


Qalam Hurr won the Social Entrepreneurship Award as part of the Social Entrepreneurship Summit held by UNDP in 2021. The reason for the company’s winning is its active role in organizing, since 2016, events, workshops and artistic productions that contribute to solving community issues related to the sustainable development goals (SDGs).

In cooperation with Wish Box and Conrad organization, we have conducted Cartoon, marketing and motivation workshops with an important group of professional female artists in order to create a group working environment among them and enable them to reach a larger group of the audience At the end of the project, an art exhibition and a virtual exhibition were held

Man Saf Baladi TV Show


The participation of Omar, founder of Qalam Hurr, in the satirical political TV show (Man Saf Baladi), prepared and presented by Ahmed Hassan Al-Zoubi and directed in the last two seasons by director Raafat Tabakhi.

The program addresses political and social issues and presents them from a reformist point of view The program also aims to promote freedom of expression, democracy and citizen awareness on various issues in Jordan. The program is considered one of the most powerful satirical political programs on social media in the last decade

Omar participated in the program in preparing, writing scripts, acting satirical scenes, as well as his puppet (Moallem Sehas).


Workshops with Paces Charity - Jordan


12 motivational workshops on creative thinking with a group of children athletes (65 children) The workshops included training exercises for drawing cartoons and presenting a set of motivational books and inspiring stories of international athletes.

The workshops were sponsored by the Paces Charity, a non-profit organization that aims to empower children in most marginalized and vulnerable areas in Palestine, Jordan, and Lebanon through sport.

Working Dreamers | UNFPA


Qalam Hurr had conducted 3 competitions with Working Dreamers during the 2017 & 2018

First theme: “Children and War”, Every day as a result of conflict, thousands of civilians are killed or injured. More than half of these victims are children. A child is particularly vulnerable to the ravages of war. Your aim is to highlight this important issue in a cartoon.
Second theme: “Women Empowerment” had become a significant topic of discussion in development and economics. Your aim is to highlight this important issue in a cartoon using one of the following topics: (Child Marriage & Domestic Violence).
Third competition: The United Nations Population Fund Jordan (UNFPA), collaborated with Seven Circles and cartoonist Omar Al Abdallat to bring the Youth Empowerment Cartoon Competition to Working Dreamers. Youth across Jordan were asked to submit a caricature that addresses and raises awareness of one of the two components of sexual and reproductive health rights, Safe Motherhood and Safe Deliveries and Care for Newborns.

UNESCO - Amman Office


Project: Prevention of Violent Extremism through Youth Empowerment in Jordan, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia”

UNESCO and Mr. Omar Al Abdallat led a creative workshop focused on human rights, training youth to express themselves using cartoon art and promoting tolerance. Participants from across Jordan learned about the history of cartoons, and the famous artists who used cartoons to advocate for global harmony.

This project was a joint initiative, with collaboration and funding from the European Union in Jordan under the “Support to Media in Jordan” project and the UNESCO-UNCCT “Prevention of Violent Extremism through Youth Empowerment in Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia and Libya" project, co-funded by the Government of Canada.

The project was conducted on November 2018

Collaboration with Orange Jordan


The cooperation between Qalam Hurr and Orange has continued since 2016, With Orange Jordan support, more than 150 workshops were held, benefiting hundreds of children and youth in different parts of the Kingdom

The workshops dealt with teaching the art of cartoon and creative thinking in order to enable children and youth to express themselves and motivate them to think in a productive and creative way.

Orange Jordan signed a cooperation agreement with the cartoonist Omar Abdallat to support his creativity training sessions for entrepreneurs and youth in Jordan, several workshops were conducted in partnership with Generations For Peace

Qalam Hurr also provided this service to several organizations in Jordan tailored to their needs

CREATIVE PRODUCTION


Qalam Hurr had produced 30 episodes of Sehs Show on Roya TV for the Ramadan season of 2018.

Omar is working with the Embassy of Sweden in Amman to produce cartoons that reflect the culture of Sweden and present information about the Sweden in creative way.

Qalam Hurr also produced Cartoons & Animation videos, Cartoon Characters for Branding & Commercial Use for several companies and organizations in Jordan.
